I keep seeing anti-abortion messages popping up asking some questions that have provoked me to respond. As usual I will take a step back and place appropriate value where it should be based on facts and not on beliefs.
Abortion while severely against the moral code and fiber of America is a topic that makes some cringe and others just plain angry. It is just one cat in a small room of thirty or so other cats waiting for someone to try and step on its tail. When the cat cries, so does the ACLU. They do some good, but I really think they breech the bounds of good and cross over into evil far to often.
The fact remains that abortion has become a civil rights issue. It has been connected to the right to produce or to not produce offspring as an extension to that. Sort of a by proxy.
The question posed was: If scientists found a single living cell on another planet they would declare they have found life. Why is a single cell found in the womb of a woman not considered life?
Well shall we dissect that question? Paramecia are single celled organisms. Eggs are not living organisms. That is scientific fact. The question was undoubtedly poorly worded by yet another under-educated individual. An inseminated egg is not a single celled organism. Its an inseminated egg first. Then mitosis begins and we now have an organism. An organism that also has more than a single cell. If that was the intent of the question then yes, by all means, the morning after pill or a tube up the vaginal canal is in fact killing a living organism.
So now you think you get to cheer about “abortion is murder” right? Wrong. Welcome to America. We must now look at citizen laws. These are Constitutionally protected. So altering them is not going to happen. I am certain if abortion was as rampant in 1781 as today our forefathers would have provisioned for it. However they did not so I just call em like I see em.
A Duck is a Duck. Walks like a Duck, Quacks like a Duck. Its a damn duck.
Today: When you are born you are assigned a birth certificate and a social security number. You are now a legal U.S. Citizen and are now subject to the Constitution and are guaranteed those rights by it. If the SS Administration would like to start issuing prenatal that would be a fucking nightmare. “Baby A of Miss. Knocked Up by third baby daddy”. but your still missing the certificate of live birth which means half the equation is still missing.
Legally the child does not exist yet. It is legally no different than the chair you sit on, its property. Controlling interest can be decided on in court during prenatal in the form of custody. However, still legally a chair. Why? Because the party cannot legally and fully appear before a court (can but that kinda defeats the purpose of not having an abortion). The party cannot be represented, even under “best interest” or “higher power” clauses without violating the civil rights of a U.S. Citizen.
Get over it. You and I do not like it, we cannot consent to such things ourselves. It is between them and God. We live and die with the choices we make. As Americans we have not a privileged, not a choice, but an OBLIGATION TO EACH OTHER TO UPHOLD THE RIGHTS OF EACH OTHER. NOT TO RIP EACH OTHER TO PIECES OVER THEM.
