I was looking for reliable statistics on what are the most dangerous cities in the U.S., but the FBI says there are no reliable statistics that you can use to compare any of our cities. So I sort of gave up. I had an idea for a great article, nothing in it that you did not already know, unless you are a Liberal Agendanista blinded by your own self-importance. I wanted to give you the right ammunition for backing up your arguments, the straight dope from the FBI itself.
But there is nothing there.
The FBI’s Preliminary Semiannual Uniform Crime Report, January-June, 2011, provides a lot of crime statistics in spread sheets. This is the document that all of the Liberal media use to come up with their various “Deadliest Cities in the U.S.” stories. Ever wonder why there are different cities on the lists in the different publications?
The cover page to this report says:
“PLEASE NOTE
Figures used in this Report were submitted voluntarily by law enforcement agencies throughout the country. Individuals using these tabulations are cautioned against drawing conclusions by making direct comparisons between cities. Comparisons lead to simplistic and/or incomplete analyses that often create misleading perceptions adversely affecting communities and their residents. Valid assessments are possible only with careful study and analysis of the range of unique conditions affecting each local law enforcement jurisdiction. It is important to remember that crime is a social problem and, therefore, a concern of the entire community. The efforts of law enforcement are limited to factors within its control. The data user is, therefore, cautioned against comparing statistical data of individual agencies. Further information on this topic can be obtained in the annual UCR report Crime in the United States, 2010.

Report issued by Robert S. Mueller III, Director, Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Department of Justice, Washington, D.C. 20535”.
TRANSLATION:
Only an idiot would use these spreadsheets in trying to compare the crime statistics for different cities. The various law enforcement agencies present data to us that is at best incomplete and inconsistent, and at worst is totally unusable. There is too much variety in the means of reporting, and in exactly what is included or excluded by these agencies. These reports are submitted by the various law enforcement agencies VOLUNTARILY, so of course they will be hiding things, and generally will be bullshitting us. If you are thinking of trying to compile a most dangerous cities list, and do not have a Ph.D. in comparative statistics, don’t even bother.
Which leaves most of you B.A. in Liberal Arts reporters and feature writers way outside of the ball park.
Thank you, Bob Muller, and the rest of the agents involved in preparing this report. I am sure you stuck your necks out in writing that little disclaimer, and sticking it right up front and center on the cover page for anyone with half a brain to see. Whatever our disagreements (if there are any) on anything else are, I am glad to see that you still value the presentation of the truth. Even if you have to hide it on the front page.
It is reassuring to think that there may still be a few Patriots left at the top. People who understand the dangers inherent in following the lead of the current “progressive” leaders. People who see the danger to the U.S. that is presented by the now social reconstructionist federal government. A government that seems bent on becoming ever more powerful. A government that now disregards the value and validity of its very own citizens. A government that now claims that it can hold you indefinitely without charge, or without a trial. A government that now claims that it can kill you without having to provide any sort of concrete justification for doing so. A government that seems to believe that fomenting a domestic revolution in the U.S. is the most logical means to achieve its greater, darker end.
A government that no longer makes it a secret that, for them, the end justifies the means, even unto the final measure.
