The Daily Caller reported early this morning that Sharyl Attkisson may be on her way out at CBS. If this proves to be true then we must look at the situation with the utmost scrutiny. Attkisson is one of the few reporters in the liberal-led media that has been stubbornly seeking the truth about Benghazi since the very beginning. Tim Brown reported yesterday:
Sharyl Attkisson, of CBS News, has been one of the few reporters who is “a persistent voice of media skepticism on Benghazi,” according to the Washington Post. It’s nice to know there are still some in the media who are persistent voices of media skepticism when it comes to our government. After all, that really is part of what the First Amendment is about; holding government accountable through freedom of speech and freedom of the press. However, she’s now claiming that she has received “a tremendous amount of pushback” from the Obama White House.
“I’m a political agnostic,” she says. “I don’t think about who’s good and who’s bad. I just go where the story leads. . . . People can say what they want about me, I don’t care. I just want to get the information out there.”
Not only does Attkisson, say that, but she lives it. She claims that she is not partisan and has already demonstrated that she will go up against the administration in her coverage of the Justice Department’s gun running operation, Fast and Furious, won her an Emmy for investigative reporting.
Attkisson believes she is being stonewalled by the White House in her investigation of Benghazi, specifically the Obama administration’s non-response to a petition for documents requested back in November under the Freedom of Information Act.
Brown also posed the question Is Ben Rhodes the Mastermind Behind the Benghazi Cover-up? earlier this week. For those who are unaware, Ben Rhodes is Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communication. He is a highly paid speech writer who is suspected of being the driving force behind butchering the Benghazi talking points. He is also the brother of CBS News President David Rhodes. What a small world we live in…
The Daily Caller has received word that Attkisson’s job may be in jeopardy and, if so, we don’t have to look too hard to see how this order could potentially come straight from Obama. The White House is unhappy with Attkisson and the President just happens to have some connections.
Here is an excerpt from the article that appeared in The Daily Caller:
CBS News executives have reportedly expressed frustration with their own reporter, Sharyl Attkisson, who has steadily covered the Obama administration’s handling of the Benghazi terrorist attack in Libya since late last year.
“Network sources” told Politico Wednesday that CBS executives feel Attkisson’s Benghazi coverage is bordering on advocacy, and Attkisson “can’t get some of her stories on the air.”
Attkisson, who is in talks to leave the network before her contract expires, has been attempting to figure out who changed the Benghazi talking points for more than five months.
“We still don’t know who changed talking points but have had at least 4 diff explanations so far,” Attkisson tweeted on November 27, 2012.
But on Friday, ABC News reported that the Benghazi talking points went through 12 revisions before they were used on the public. The White House was intimately involved in that process, ABC reported, and the talking points were scrubbed free of their original references to a terror attack.
That reporting revealed that President Obama’s deputy national security advisor, Ben Rhodes — brother of CBS News president David Rhodes — was instrumental in changing the talking points in September 2012.
Yes America, the Mainstream Media really is this corrupt.
I feel quite liberated actually. I discarded my tinfoil hat yesterday and it feels great.
