It looks like common sense has prevailed in a Virginia school district. We told you about a couple of little boys who were simply pretending that their pencils were guns and were suspended in Suffolk, Virginia because of its “zero tolerance” for weapons policy. Well now, it seems someone on that Board got a brain and began to think through the issue. They have now revised their policy to a more “common sense” approach. According to 10News:
Under the revised policy, school administrators can look at factors such as intentions of harm and whether the object is listed as a weapon to determine the punishment. Ordinary objects will not be considered weapons A local television station reports that school board members voted unanimously to approve the revised policy last week.
This all came about after the two second graders pretended that their pencils were guns and they made “shooting noises” while pointing them at each other.
“When I asked him about it, he said, ‘Well I was being a Marine and the other guy was being a bad guy,’” said Paul Marshall, one of the boys’ fathers. “It’s as simple as that.”
In the previous article, Andrea pointed out how cultural Marxism is seeking to emasculate our boys from being protectors and growing into men. Instead of helping them to fulfill their God given roles as men, the public education system, and the system in large, is promoting effeminate behavior rather than masculinity.
This policy revision comes as several students across the United States have been suspended for toy guns, wearing gun related clothing, and gun talk at school.
