harry-reid-evil-mongersFor all the naysayers that continue to come to Freedom Outpost and other outlets who claim that Obamacare is good for America and isn’t about government takeover of healthcare, well Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is making no bones about it. He says that Obamacare is merely a step towards a single payer system.

During a Friday night appearance on Las Vegas PBS’ program “Nevada Week in Review,” Reid made clear what the objective of Obamacare is.

“What we’ve done with Obamacare is have a step in the right direction, but we’re far from having something that’s going to work forever,” Reid said.

When then asked by panelist Steve Sebelius whether he meant ultimately the country would have to have a health care system that abandoned insurance as the means of accessing it, Reid said: “Yes, yes. Absolutely, yes.”

The idea of introducing a single-payer national health care system to the United States, or even just a public option, sent lawmakers into a tizzy back in 2009, when Reid was negotiating the health care bill.

Reid went on to expound on that. “We had a real good run at the public option … don’t think we didn’t have a tremendous number of people who wanted a single-payer system.”

In other words it was manipulating language in order to get public opinion without telling them what they were doing.

However, when they saw that public opinion wasn’t working, they decided to do their own thing rather than appealing to the people, who knew exactly what they were doing.

“We had to get a majority of votes,” Reid said. “In fact, we had to get a little extra in the Senate, we have to get 60.”

And that’s how things are done in Washington. Forget the people. We are going to push our own agenda, the Constitution and the people be damned!

John Nolte adds, “‘Single-payer’ is a deceptive term that means ‘socialized medicine.’ Insurance companies are put out of business and the government takes over as the sole payer of all health care costs. This also means that the government decides on how much will be reimbursed for services and which procedures are paid for and which ones are not. These policies frequently result in what is known as health care rationing and ‘death panels.’ If certain procedures are not covered or adequately reimbursed, doctors will not perform them (except for the very rich who can pay out of pocket).”

Democrats wanted to pass the health care bill so bad to find out what is in it and now many of them are finding out what is in it and are opposing it. Yes, those “death panels” that the Democrats and Obama told us weren’t in there… well they are in there and Democrat Howard Dean is now protesting against them. I’ll bet he’s doing that since he is about halfway through the “back nine” in his life.
