What if the Broker were a Snake Charmer?

bowe bergdahl traitorExecutive Summary
The article below will prove that the following points to be true.  Because the reality of these events is so outrageous, it is helpful to recount them succinctly, without, at first, the distraction of source material.

  • The Obama administration has not freed five high ranking Taliban terrorists for one American POW (Bowe Bergdahl).  In fact, the Obama administration freed ten terrorists and one terrorist sympathizing POW.
  • The administration “freed” Bowe through an intermediary, the (terrorist) State of Qatar, which has poisoned America’s anti-terrorism policies worldwide.
  • Qatar is intimately entrenched with the American political, military, and economic establishments, and is tied to Islamist terrorism and organized crime (narcotics, slavery, smuggling, kidnappings, money laundering, etc.).
  • Like his son, Bowe Bergdahl’s father, Robert, has a documented history of pro-Taliban/anti-American statements and actions.
  • The negotiations that led to the release of Bowe Bergdahl broke a federal law, signed into law by President Obama himself this year.
  • Obama and his administration are guilty of criminal, treasonous actions and should be impeached immediately.

America’s New #1 Ally
This past weekend’s release of the only American POW in Afghanistan, Bowe Bergdahl, in exchange for Taliban prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay, has triggered a deluge of media coverage from multiple angles.  Was Bergdahl a deserter?  Did Obama break the law in the process of brokering his release?  How many of Bergdahl’s fellow soldiers were killed looking for him?  Will the released Taliban commanders return to the battlefield in Afghanistan to kill more Americans?

Before analyzing some finer aspects of this story, it is important to note who served as the go-between in these negotiations between the administration and the Taliban – the State of Qatar, the only state to openly welcome the Muslim Brotherhood – and provide important context regarding relations between the United States, Qatar, and the Muslim Brotherhood/al Qaeda/Taliban.  Only with this context can  the story of how Bergdahl gained freedom be properly understood.

Recently on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Home Depot founder Ken Langone asked a NBC’s Chief Foreign Correspondent, Richard Engel, if he could name a single country which the United States has improved relations with under Obama.  After deflecting the question several times, Mr. Engel finally conceded that he could not.  While it is true enough that most of the United States’ allies have become extremely suspicious of our intentions under Obama, there is at least one country with which our relationship has flourished since (and even prior to) 2009: Qatar!

Qatar, you may reasonably say, has replaced Saudi Arabia as the preferred Sharia-compliant Gulf state ally of America.  The number of important American institutions located in Qatar could fill a volume of its own.  From two of the largest American military bases outside the United States (As Sayliyah and Al Udeid), to ExxonMobil and Boeing, to Brookings and (until January) the RAND Corporation, to Carnegie Mellon and Georgetown, it is fair to characterize the American establishment (political, economic, academic, and military) as entrenched throughout the tiny Gulf State.  Why?  Looking at each case individually, which we will not do here, the common denominator seems to be Qatari money/subsidies.  For a more comprehensive look at Qatar, the Arab Spring, and American connections, see this online report.

Unlike Saudi Arabia, who in decades in alliance (since the 1930s) has kept their dedication to Koranic law, more or less, confined within their borders, Qatar is an imperialist nation.  Indeed, the Arab Spring, which saw the violent removal of secular strongmen and the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in countries such as Egypt and Libya, was the brainchild of Qatar and its ruling al-Thani royal family.  One result of the Arab Spring has been the massacre of an untold number of Christians across Northern Africa and the Middle East.  Islamic supremacists, whether under the banner of the Muslim Brotherhood, al Qaeda, Boko Haram (each supported by Qatar) have no tolerance for other religions.

This is consistent with the program of terrorism and corruption advanced by the Qatari royals.  Here are just a few examples of Qatari connections to organized crime and Islamist terrorism.

  • The richest country in the world by GDP per capita (USD $102,000), Qatar is infamous for its use of imported “slave” labor.  Currently, many of these slaves are employed to help Qatar prepare for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
  • Qatar is in a joint venture with the Pakistani ISI’s National Logistics Cell, who are known to be heroin transporters for the Taliban.
  • According to a Qatari report in 2012, Qatar, whose population is approximately 2 million (although only a paltry 280,000 are citizens) ranked among the top 20 countries in dirty money outflows.
  • Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, was once on Qatari payroll in their Ministry of Electricity and Water.
  • According to the same Congressional report linked above, Qatar may have also been responsible for training one of the most prolific terrorists in Iraq during the occupation:  “More recent concerns regarding potential support for terrorism by prominent Qataris have centered around claims that the late Abu Musab Al Zarqawi may have transited Qatar after September 11, 2001 and benefitted from a safehouse and financial support provided by a member of the ruling Al Thani family.”
  • Qatar has been shown to be one of the original backers of Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram, which was set up as a “money making venture.”  Boko Haram is involved in the smuggling of drugs, as well as kidnapping for profit through ransom and the sale of prisoners for sex slavery.

In the last month or so, Qatar, whose ruling al-Thani family usually keeps a very low profile, has been in the international headlines numerous times.

  • The honor of hosting that slave-powered 2022 FIFA World Cup was bestowed, reportedly, after Qatar bribedFIFA officials £3 million.  Qatar, directly and indirectly, holds stakes in several football clubs, including F.C. Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain F.C.
  • In May, the Qatar Islamic Culture Center launched a social media campaign telling foreigners what not to wear.  “If you are in Qatar, you are one of us. Help us preserve Qatar’s culture and values, please dress modestly in public places.”  Heroin is OK.  Slaves are OK.  Tank tops and skirts… well, they’re haram(forbidden).

The (Not) Taliban Embassy in Qatar
Regarding POW Bergdahl, Qatar’s role as the intermediary between the American government and the Taliban has been established for some time under Obama. In 2011, the Obama administration announced that it would be opening an “office” in Qatar where it could conduct negotiations with the Taliban.  The alleged reasoning behind this move was that Qatar was beyond the reach of Pakistan (by this we can safely assume the reach of its meddling intelligence service, the ISI), which is likely true: the ISI is not allowed in Qatar.  In 2013, the administration went to great lengths to declare that this office was not an “embassy.”  This clarification came after Afghan lawmakers expressed deep concerns over Washington’s apparent willingness to negotiate with the Taliban.  Yet the prominence of the “office” has grown, with the BBC reporting last year that “there are now more than 20 relatively high-ranking Taliban members who live here with their families.”

This “office” in Qatar is used by the United States to negotiate, you could even say cooperate, with terrorists.

The Deserter POW and his Terrorist Sympathizing Father
Bowe Bergdahl’s release has led to his former brothers-in-arms to speak out against him.  According to various sources, Bowe Bergdahl was profoundly ashamed of America and the way the war was being conducted in Afghanistan.  Furthermore, he was not captured in combat but abandoned his post willingly.  Shortly before his disappearance, Bergdahl wrote his parents by email:

“I am sorry for everything here… These people need help, yet what they get is the most conceited country in the world [i.e. America] telling them that they are nothing and that they are stupid…I am ashamed to be an American. And the title of US soldier is just the lie of fools… I am sorry for everything. The horror that is America is disgusting.”

With this kind of attitude, it is not hard to believe the claims of others in his platoon that he was a deserter.  In an article published in The Daily Beast, one soldier who served with Bergdahl wrote:

“Bergdahl was a deserter, and soldiers from his own unit died trying to track him down… Make no mistake: Bergdahl did not ‘lag behind on a patrol,’ as was cited in news reports at the time. There was no patrol that night. Bergdahl was relieved from guard duty, and instead of going to sleep, he fled the outpost on foot. He deserted. I’ve talked to members of Bergdahl’s platoon—including the last Americans to see him before his capture. I’ve reviewed the relevant documents. That’s what happened.”

The truth seems to be that Bowe Bergdahl hated his country, and so he decided to walk right into the hands of the Taliban.

Like Jihadi Father, Like Jihadi Son
As for his father, Bob Bergdahl, to whom that email was addressed, Bob’s response to his son was “OBEY YOUR CONSCIENCE!”  What type of conscience is this?

You Might Like

Bob Bergdahl, like his “POW” son is a convert to Islam.  Reporting on shoebat.org, Walid and Theodore Shoebat explain that not only does Bob have a beard and a trimmed mustache, two signs of a devout Muslim male, Bob also speaks and writes fluent Arabic, Pharsi, and Pashto.  During the press conference at the White House, he began by reciting the Shahada, the Muslim profession of faith.  (Obama actually smiled as Bob said this.)  But the most damning evidence that Bob is actually a terrorist sympathizer are YouTube bookmarks.  A collection of jihad propaganda, they include a video made by the American Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed a drone in Yemen attack after inspiring the Fort Hood shooter, Nidal Hassan.

If there were any doubt left, Bob had a history of Tweeting pro-Taliban messages.  One such message read “I am still working to free all Guantanamo prisoners.  God will repay for the death of every Afghan child, Ameen!”  Not working to free his son, but hardened terrorists who killed American soldiers?  Another tweet read, “3 US terrorists were killed & tank destroyed during ambush 2am near Parwan provincial capital Khaibar.”

I don’t see any reason why the Obama administration, if they were acting on behalf of the United States’ interests, would ever work to free a deserter/enemy sympathizer, whose father believes that American soldiers are the real terrorists.  Then again, this assumes Obama and his administration are working in the interests of the United States and not Qatar.

Now that his son is free, Bob Bergdahl has said he is unsure whether or not Bowe can still speak English.  (They have allegedly been communicating in Pashto, a language spoken in Afghanistan.)  Yet Bowe was held by the Haqqani network, a Pakistani-based terrorist group.  One of Pakistan’s official languages is English!  Is it reallyplausible that Bowe, who grew up in Idaho, no longer speaks English?  Or does the administration not want Bowe speaking for himself until he is debriefed?

While Bergdahl works hard to remember his English, and some speculate he may be court-martialed by the Army, Obama is going to promote him from private to staff sergeant.

Obama did not Free Five Terrorists – He Freed Eleven!
The media widely reported details about the five high ranking Taliban who had been freed in exchange for Bowe Bergdahl.  The Talibs in question were some of the highest ranking members of the movement, close confidants of Mullah Omar… his so-called “Kitchen Cabinet.”  They included the former Interior Minister of the Taliban, the Chief of Staff for the Taliban Army, Deputy Chief of Intelligence for the Taliban, a former governor, and a member of the joint al-Qaeda-Taliban cell and member of the Haqqani Network.  These murderous jihadis will (allegedly) spend a year in, where else?, Qatar with travel restrictions, unable to leave the country.

Sure they will.  Reminder: that’s the same Qatar in partnership with the National Logistics Cell, who smuggles heroin for the Taliban.

Yet as Dean Garrison at DCClothesline reminded us, these five were the second half of the delivery.  The first five Taliban, the preliminary collateral for the American-hating Bergdahl, were released in August 2013.  As Garrison put it, “The Taliban got a total of ten men back who want to kill Americans.  We received one traitor who is ashamed to be an American.”

Considering the statements of Bowe and Bob, their hatred of the United States and sympathy for the Taliban, we might simplify and say “Obama freed 11 terrorists.”

Not only that, but he did so against a law he signed earlier this year.  The law, which was part of the 2014 National Defense Authorization Act, requires that the President notify Congress 30 days prior to the release of prisoners.  That Obama violated federal law is not only the opinion of Republican Senator Howard McKeon, Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, but also George Washington Professor of Law (and Obama supporter),Jonathan Turley.   Said Turley, “I don’t think that the White House is seriously arguing that they’re not violating federal law.”  He continued, “[T]he fact that you have negotiations that have gone on for years really undermines the argument that this was a matter where time was of the essence,” referring to the administration’s claim that Bergdahl’s health was failing, and therefore why they could not inform Congress 30 days prior to the deal.

Two senior members of the administration do not dispute that the law, or standard protocol, were broken.  Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, apparently not one to recognize irony or contradiction, said, “As to notification of Congress, yes, there is a 30-day notification. I notified the appropriate committee leadership, different committee leadership yesterday. That’s part of the responsibility I have as the secretary of defense.”  See how that works?  Me either.

National Security Adviser Susan Rice, when asked by CNN’s Candy Crowley if the United States negotiated with terrorists, dissembled.  “Candy, what we did was ensure that, as always, the United States doesn’t leave a man or woman on the battlefield.”  She added, “We actually negotiated with the government of Qatar, to whom we owe a great debt.

We, the American people, owe the government of Qatar something all right.

The Grip of the Qatarsnipes
Before western oil companies moved into Qatar and helped the royal family extract oil and natural gas from the ground, Qatar was nothing more than a tent-based economy, a backward peninsula populated by various tribes who exerted virtually no influence on world affairs.  Since the mid-1970s, and especially since the end of the first Gulf War, Qatar has used its enormous wealth to curry favor and influence in the halls of the United States government.  Not only has this Sharia state manipulated American foreign policy to its own ends, it has done so with money increasingly derived from organized crime, such as narcotics trafficking and slavery.

Since January 2009, the Qataris have had a reliable ally in the White House.  Barack Obama has backed virtually all of Qatar’s Islamist insurgencies across the Middle East and North Africa.  In the cases Libya and Syria, Obama is using the United States military as a tool of the Qataris to spread a Taliban-like model of statecraft (i.e. anarchy) to once relatively stable countries.  Iraq and Afghanistan, the two theaters of war which opened following the attacks on September 11, 2001, are dangerously close to falling into the hands of Qatari-connected terrorists, smugglers, and otherwise thugs.

In May 2014, the Obama administration, we can say with a great deal of certainty, followed the guidance of the Qataris and swapped an American traitor and deserter for a total of ten hardened Taliban leaders.  Like the Benghazi “embassy” attack, this represents one more opportunity for patriotic members of Congress in both parties to impeach the president before it is too late.
