Over 90,000 subscribers have dropped Dish Network over their decision to drop Fox News from their line up.  Another 350,000 have called the offices of Dish Network, complaining about losing Fox.  Using the average a customer pays for Dish Network and multiplying that by 90,000 means that DN will lose 45 million a month every month.

Since the dispute was over just a few pennies increase, one has to believe that the decision to drop Fox was a political move.  The fact that Fox outdraws other cable news networks by far and also leads in the most desirable age demographics, Fox believed they deserved more money.  Here is chart of cable news networks from last September:

Not only does Fox News dominate overall, they win every time slot as the chart shows.  So, tell me, if the goal is to get as many viewers as possible and since Fox News increase is much lower in cost than the 45 million a month they are now losing, why didn’t they settle?  Politics.
