POLICE AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS NOW BELIEVE AMERICAN FLAG STYLE T-SHIRTS REPRESENT GANG ACTIVITY
(INTELLIHUB) — In yet another example of the liberal insanity now taking over every facet of American life, a 12-year-old honor student in California was forced to turn his American flag t-shirt inside out after authoritarian school officials declared the shirt “gang related”.
The student, Dustin Cole, was apparently approached by common sense lacking school officials at Yuba Gardens Intermediate school and informed that the shirt, which featured items from both the American and California state flag, violated the dress code.
After coming home from work and seeing her child doing homework with his t-shirt inside out, Cole’s mother Lori Carpenter posted a disgusted Facebook update questioning the insane dress code.
“He’s an honor roll student, he’s in California Junior Scholastic Federation and he gets A’s,” Carpenter told the Appeal-Democrat. “He’s a star student but he can’t wear a star.”
Carpenter also contacted school officials demanding answers as to why her son was treated like a gang member for literally wearing a t-shirt that honors both the state of California and the country as a whole.
Shockingly, the response she received was not one of regret for an obvious mistake on the part of school officials but one that actually attempted to further explain and legitimize this insanity. The reasoning from both school officials and a local police detective defy any sort of logic and read like something out of the satirical news website the Onion.
Ben Martin, a detective and absolute jackass from the Yuba County Sheriff’s Departments gang unit gave what has to be one of the most illogical, fact challenged reasons for banning a t-shirt in history.
The red star on the Bear Flag, which represents the Lone Star flag flown above Monterey in 1836 during Juan Alvarado’s revolt against the Mexican government, is also used by the Norteño criminal street gang, said Ben Martin, a detective with the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department gang unit.
Red is the gang’s color, the five points of the star represent “1+4″ and the 14th letter of the alphabet is “N.”
Inside the red star on Cole’s shirt, the number 31 is visible. The 31 on the shirt represents that California is the 31st state, but in gang iconography, 31 is the inverse of 13, which is used by the Sureño gang.
“I wouldn’t say that (California’s Bear Flag) is necessarily gang attire, itself, but if you put it with one or two elements it could become gang attire,” Martin said.
Using the insane reasoning given by Martin one could look at any t-shirt with any sort of logo or pictures and find a way to declare its connection to gang activity. The idea that students, or the general public for that matter, know anything about 31 being the inverse of 13 in gang slang or that five points of the star represent some math problem is absolutely laughable.
Not to be outdone by Martin’s asinine explanation for declaring a state and countries flag gang related, Assistant Superintendent at Marysville Joint Unified School District, Ramiro Carreon went even further into insanity by declaring that because the shirt includes colors that a gang might use, the school simply cannot turn a blind eye to the horrible danger that are the California and American flags.
“Our local gang task force, they identify colors, they identify designs, they identify all of the things that we should be aware of,” Carreon told Fox40.
“That design has been associated with gangs in the past, and we cannot just turn a blind eye to that.”
No, Ramiro Carreon, anyone that has even half a brain and isn’t an out of control authoritarian control freak can see that “turning a blind eye” to a student wearing a flag t-shirt is not only something that should be done, it is the only logical choice.
After reading the laughable reasoning given by Martin and Carreon, one has to question whether or not they even believe the nonsense they are spewing as it simply defies reality to imagine that these two people got as far as they have in life by being this stupid.
Sadly, this is just the latest example in a string of incidents surrounding children wearing American flag t-shirts at schools across the country. From California to New York, leftist thought police (also know as school officials) have declared the flag everything from hateful to racist and now you can add gang related to the list.
Unfortunately it seems most Americans, while outraged at the insanity, are willing to go along with this slow banning of the American flag rather than standing up and loudly shouting NO.
The best possible response to control freaks like detective Martin and Assistant Superintendent Carreon would be to not only keep wearing the t-shirts in question but also organizing other students to do the same.
