The executive, judicial and legislative branches which conist of the three known branches, are controlled by the fourth branch – the Deep State
In those articles I have posited that “it helps to recognize that there are four branches of government, not three. The executive, judicial and legislative branches which consist of the three known branches are controlled by the fourth branch — the ‘Deep State.’ The Deep State in turn is comprised of power-brokers within intelligence agencies, the military-industrial complex and multi-national corporations (MNCs).”
Subsequent to the publication of those articles I have received messages from one of the moderators stating that some people have expressed doubts regarding the existence of the hidden fourth branch of government. He asked me if I would I care to extrapolate on the Deep State in another one of my blogs. Thus this blog will address that.
Now to commence, and to begin to address the doubters out there, the idea of a “Deep State” or silent fourth branch of government is not my idea at all. Readers, before you complain that I am “making things up without references,” can’t you do a Google search on your own?
Amazon has dozens upon dozens of books which discuss the topic of a fourth branch of government, invisible power-brokers, the military-industrial complex, the role of multi-national corporations and their lobbying groups which influence American politics behind the scenes.
Like Broadway plays, within American politics there are directors and crews behind the scenes which guide the choreography of the actors. While they cannot be seen during the performance, their presence and integration is pivotal for the production to run smoothly. And so it is with the Deep State.
Is one to think that politicians are not beholden to the special interest groups which landed them their positions (roles) to begin with? Should we have doubts that between military and intelligence entities and the mega-companies which work with them, that hundreds of billions of dollars are at stake?
Money from consumers helps to support Coca-Cola and Nabisco, money flowing from the government, for “national security,” intelligence, and geopolitical control supports the likes of Boeing and Lockheed-Martin.
Do not think that these mega-corporations and other more shadowy MNCs do not wield power over the Washington elite – and also within the military-industrial complex. After all, they comprise the “industrial” aspect of that very complex.
One case in point is Halliburton as well as Kellogg, Brown and Root, and the Iraq War. Those two companies scored billions upon billions of dollars, often through no-bid contracts. Mother Jones ran a great article which references the Deep State in all but name here.
Do humanitarian efforts and a wish to save lives and spread “democracy” drive our foreign policy? Was the effort of Hillary Clinton in Libya really to bring “peace” to Libya and the Levant? Was that the game plan in Iraq and Afghanistan as well? None of the politicians in Washington have been motivated by the possibility of revenues generated from a hybridized military-multinational corporate syndicate in some of these desolate regions in which we insist on “spreading democracy?”
What other than an ostrich with its head buried so deeply in the sand would ever care to stake a claim that American politicians and the power-brokers within our government are free from the influence of Fortune 50 companies?
For those of you who won’t be satisfied by the plethora of books on Amazon which reference the Deep State, you should take a moment to peruse a 2014 Boston Globe article, entitled Vote all you want. The secret government won’t change. Since the Boston Globe charges non-subscribers to read this article, I am linking to InfoWars which has posted it in full here.
The article byline is: “The people we elect aren’t the ones calling the shots.” Wait a minute. Isn’t this something that I have stated repetitively over the course of the past month or so on Intellihub, amidst the chatter of “conspiracy theorist,” and “the government does not have advanced technology” hidden away from John Q. Public? After all, they really are so transparent and open, aren’t they?
In an interview with the Boston Globe regarding his book National Security and Double Government, Tufts University political scientist Michael J. Glennon maintains that “the defense and national security apparatus is effectively self-governing, with virtually no accountability, transparency, or checks and balances of any kind. He uses the term ‘double government:’ There’s the one we elect, and then there’s the one behind it, steering huge swaths of policy almost unchecked. Elected officials end up serving as mere cover for the real decisions made by the bureaucracy.”
So there is a fourth branch of government which runs the show. There is a Deep State which few people even know exists, and mark my words, their agenda is not divulged to mice or men such as ourselves, and neither is their technology. I rest my case.
