LAS VEGAS (INTELLIHUB) — Carlsbad Police Captain G. White was seated on top of the roof deck of the Losers bar with his wife and their four friends when he heard fully-automatic gunfire emanating from the direction of the Mandalay Bay around 10:05 pm.
“The sound was gunfire with a distinctive cadence that I could not place,” the captain wrote in a supplemental narrative filed with the department on October 8th.
White explains: “The cadence was consistent, however, it was much slower than an automatic AR-15 or AK-47 platform [it] sounded similar to a Browning 50 cal. M2 machine gun.”
