Donna Brazile is the woman who took over for disgraced Debbie Wasserman-Schultz after the big scandal that broke over the rigged Democrat election. Then she wrote a book that talked about the rigged campaign and Clinton connections. Now she’s been hired by Fox News as a commentator. NOW what? They fired Judge Jeanine, who was exceedingly popular and hired a Democrat. Are they sliding left or do they just want another person to argue with?
Brazile says she is “excited” to join the Fox team so she can help “shape the dialogue at this juncture in history.” In an op-ed for Fox News, she wrote,
“I fully admit that in my previous lives as a campaign staffer, presidential campaign manager and Democrat Party official, my own lack of civility in the heat of battle has been on full display. And it wasn’t pretty. I should have been wise enough and humble enough to have listened to my mother, Jean, who so often would tell me, the third of nine children, to shut up and allow my siblings to speak, and to listen – really listen – to what they had to say. She knew I wasn’t listening so much as I was pausing before launching again into an argument. My mother tried to teach us Brazile kids a lesson we all need to heed as citizens: Listen more, talk less. Be civil to one another. Find common ground. Contempt is hatred towards others. These are the lessons and the attitude I will bring to Fox News.” Donna Brazile
Will she agree with the Fox point of view? She says “probably not,” but she will “listen.”
Democrats can talk about “civility” and “respect” but will that pan out in the heat of an argument with people who are diametrically opposed to each other? Juan Williams, another liberal contributor, has often clashed with members of the Fox News team and he has been there since 1997. He has gone so far as to say that the lines between the White House and Fox News are “blurred” at best.
Are they sliding left, one commentator at a time? Will that damage their relationship with Trump? He has already asked them to bring Judge Jeanine back.
If they keep putting liberals on their commentators team, they could lose their audience. It’s difficult enough to know that they are partly owned by a Saudi Prince named Alwaleed bin Talal, so the firing of Judge Jeanine comes into perspective. But Conservatives have been their “meat and potatoes” for years.
Donna Brazile was privy to the inner workings of the DNC immediately after a scandal that rocked the party in 2016: the plan to knock Bernie Sanders out of the nomination so that Hillary could be top dog. She knew what was going on and wrote about it in her book.
