Facebook, the fascist, authoritarian social media giant once dubbed “Iron FistBook” by cartoonist A.F Branco, has recently determined that certain people, namely Alex Jones, Laura Loomer, Paul Joseph Watson and others are “dangerous” and should not be allowed on the site.
“We’ve always banned individuals or organizations that promote or engage in violence and hate, regardless of ideology,” Facebook said in a statement, according to The Verge. “The process for evaluating potential violators is extensive and it is what led us to our decision to remove these accounts today.”
Facebook bans “dangerous individuals and organizations” that engage in violence or have an ideology that attacks individuals based on race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. A Facebook spokesperson told CNN that the company undertakes a lengthy review process before a ban, looking at factors such as whether someone has called for violence, and whether they use hateful slurs to describe themselves in their “About” section.
This prompted writer Matt Walsh to state on Twitter that it is now a violation of Facebook policy to speak positively of anyone the company doesn’t like anywhere in public.
“It is now a violation of Facebook’s policies to speak positively anywhere in public about people Facebook doesn’t like. This is extremely creepy,” he tweeted.

Not only is it creepy, it’s dangerous, downright Orwellian and un-American. It’s one thing to disagree with what others say, it’s another to completely deny those individuals their voice because of their point of view.
In saner times, one could easily dismiss Walsh’s tweet as being somewhat sarcastic. But these are not sane times, and Facebook has repeatedly demonstrated through its actions that it does not support free speech, as we and others have reported.
In our 2016 book, “Banned: How Facebook Enables Militant Islamic Jihad,” American-Israeli Adina Kutnicki and I warned that the social media giant is now acting as though it is a government unto itself, a fascist digital empire where one man — Mark Zuckerberg — can determine what one must think, say or believe. The last time I looked, that pretty much fit the definition of “tyranny.”
Leftists like to say that Facebook is a private company and can do what it wants. Fine. Then maybe conservatives should give Zuckerberg and his empire the middle finger and walk away. There are a number of alternatives, as we have reported here and here.
Sadly, Facebook continues to remain the top dog in the online world. Could it be that users WANT to be treated and led around like mindless slaves by nameless, faceless McCarthy-like moderators?
We reached out to Facebook to determine if Walsh’s statement is an accurate representation of the company’s policy. The company has yet to respond and somehow, we doubt that it ever will.
