Carmine Sabia| Opinion| Democrats are so despondent about their dwindling chances of victory in the 2020 presidential election that they have already begun preparing their excuses for their inevitable defeat.
Watching the Democratic presidential debate, it has become apparent to me, and many, that they do not have a candidate who can stand against President Donald Trump.
The New York Times reported that as senior intelligence official has informed lawmakers that Russia is interfering in the 2020 presidential election to help Trump.
“Intelligence officials warned House lawmakers last week that Russia was interfering in the 2020 campaign to try to get President Trump re-elected, five people familiar with the matter said, a disclosure to Congress that angered Mr. Trump, who complained that Democrats would use it against him,” The Times said.
“The day after the Feb. 13 briefing to lawmakers, the president berated Joseph Maguire, the outgoing acting director of national intelligence, for allowing it to take place, people familiar with the exchange said.
“Mr. Trump was particularly irritated that Representative Adam B. Schiff, Democrat of California and the leader of the impeachment proceedings, was at the briefing,” it said.
“During the briefing to the House Intelligence Committee, Mr. Trump’s allies challenged the conclusions, arguing that he had been tough on Russia and that he had strengthened European security.
“Some intelligence officials viewed the briefing as a tactical error, saying the conclusions could have been delivered in a less pointed manner or left out entirely to avoid angering Republicans.
“The intelligence official who delivered the briefing, Shelby Pierson, is an aide to Mr. Maguire and has a reputation for speaking bluntly,” it said.
Naturally Democrats seized on this news, as their campaigns fall apart like a house of cards, to start preparing their excuses for 2020.
“We count on the intelligence community to inform Congress of any threat of foreign interference in our elections,” California Rep. Adam Schiff tweeted.
“If reports are true and the President is interfering with that, he is again jeopardizing our efforts to stop foreign meddling. Exactly as we warned he would do.”

But President trump is cutting them off at the pass, slamming the reports as he sees them for precisely what they are.
“Another misinformation campaign is being launched by Democrats in Congress saying that Russia prefers me to any of the Do Nothing Democrat candidates who still have been unable to, after two weeks, count their votes in Iowa. Hoax number 7!” he said.

He is 100 percent correct. No one, other than their sycophants, believes any of this nonsense anymore.
