Salt Lake City, UT — Since the United States began locking down and issuing stay at home orders, police interactions have become less frequent but more bizarre. Over the past two weeks, TFTP has reported on everything from cops coughing on people to violating their own social distancing orders to arrest innocent dads playing t-ball with their children.
In a video out of Salt Lake City this weekend, the police state insanity during the coronavirus lockdown has progressed even further. A Salt Lake County Sheriff’s deputy is seen getting in an innocent man’s face and telling the man that he is above the social distancing order.
The incident is now under investigation by the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s office after a video of it posted to Instagram went viral. The video was posted by user @flaskaryan with the following description:

This officer (badge number 52-“delta”) was completely out of line. By conducting yourself in this manner you make everyone in your department and every officer that wears that badge of honor an absolute disgrace. You should be ashamed to call yourself an officer of the law. When you lie about laws you’re sworn to uphold, you’ve not only lost yourself but every piece of dignity that deserves any bit of respect from your fellow officers. I am appalled by your actions and I hope you take a good long hard look in the mirror and figure out exactly what the hell you’re doing. One thing you are NOT DOING is your job!!!!!! I won’t even get into the blatant disregard for public health. I’ll let the public comment on that.. #serveandprotectnotharassandabuse
While we do not know what led up to the video, what is going on in the video is perfectly clear — above the law harassment and unprofessional behavior.
As the video begins, a cop is screaming in the face of a man, for apparently no reason. The officer seems upset at the man’s attitude.
“How far do you think I’m going to tolerate your attitude?” the officer asks.
The police officer also says “trespassing is trespassing” to the man, and later says he is doing the man the benefit of “trying to get permission from somebody.”
As the cop continues to get in the man’s face, the snowboarder asks the cop to please back up. That’s when the cop — who does not have on a face mask — makes the assertion that he doesn’t need to abide by social distancing.
“I do not need to give you a social distance!” the cop states.
The tyrant cop then claims that the man “invited this” on himself, before telling the man to “shut your f**king mouth.”
As the bystander films the incident, the male officer’s female partner attempts to stop it. She tells the person filming to stop it, but is quickly told by the person filming that it is their right to film. Knowing that the person filming was correct, the female officer said, “Okay,” and turned back around.
The video then ends as the screaming cops storms off behind a van.
The department was forced to respond to the video after it went viral. In a statement to KSL, Salt Lake County Sheriff Rosie Rivera said: “We are aware of the video and are investigating the incident. We do not condone this type of language from our officers.”
KSL also interviewed the man who posted the video to Instagram, Ryan Flaska, who told them that in spite of the cop’s display of aggression, no arrests were made and no tickets were given. It was all for nothing.
“There is a lot that can be debated in this video, what led up to these actions or what was said before the video started,” Flaska said in an Instagram message. “The officer’s actions clearly put this person at risk.”
As KSL reports:
He said the group was concerned that the officer did not comply with social distancing recommendations in the midst of the pandemic. They were being respectful to the officer, he added.
No one called to complain about the group, and there were not any “no trespassing” signs posted in the area, according to Flaska.
Below is a video showing how perceived authority can be a risk, not only to the tyrant cops who ignore social distancing, but to innocent bystanders who become of victim of said authority.
