Alex Jones has been ordered to pay over $49 million in damages to the parents of one Sandy Hook victim for “defamation” and “intentional infliction of emotional distress” for calling the shooting a “hoax” nearly one decade ago.

“In Texas, there are statutory limits on punitive damages, with a per-defendant cap of two times the amount of economic damages, plus the amount of noneconomic damages found by the jury—the latter part not to exceed $750,000,” Bloomberg Law reports.
“Judge Maya Guerra Gamble of the 459th District Court in Travis County may reduce the punitive damages given those caps, and Jones’ attorneys said immediately after the verdict that they would file a motion to reduce the punitive award.”
Jones was found guilty by Democratic judge Maya Guerra Gamble before the trial began for allegedly failing to comply with discovery, which allowed Jones’s persecutors to side-step the free speech issue entirely and only have a jury rule on damages.

His defense was sabotaged by his own lawyer apparently inadvertently handing over the contents of Jones’ cell phone to the plaintiffs’ lawyers.
Attorney Mark Bankston told #AlexJones that his attorney messed up and sent him Jones' entire cell phone history. "Did you know that your lawyers messed up and sent me your entire cell phone texting history 12 days ago?" Bankston asked. "You know what perjury is right?" pic.twitter.com/IfIiP5UTIg

Alex Jones lashed out at his "damn" lawyers after his cell phone records were accidentally disclosed to opposing counsel.
"It's just so incredibly sick that I sit there and give the damn lawyers all the text messages… my lawyers give them the raw text messages of six months." pic.twitter.com/ANIRFs6KyA

Judge Gamble said she was not going to stop the Jan 6 committee from seizing his private phone records so they can further persecute him.
Regarding the Sandy Hook plaintiffs turning over Alex Jones’ phone records to the 1/6 House Committee, Judge Gamble says, “I’m not standing between you and Congress. That is not my job. I’m not going to do that.”

Jones did what he could to defend himself on the stand but the game was rigged from the start.
There are still two more trials to go, one in Austin and another in Connecticut. Jones was pre-emptively found guilty in both.
The regime is doing an end-run around the First Amendment to persecute Alex Jones for his political speech and silence his voice.
